How did you get a hold of these?. Ah just saw the other thread. Not much information is available on these it seems.
EDIT: The files are not more than update rollup packages and not much more beta than any other hotfix we share here. The Compatibility hotfix has an dxgkrnl.sys update and fixes minor other annoyances. The larger performance update has two (?) updated screensavers if I remember correctly, an already superseded shell32.dll fix (628 while the newest is 642) and a kernel (ntoskrnl.exe) update which already is on the share (628?) and an csc.sys update (628) plus some more. It is nice to have some of the latest mixed with some we do not have yet, but it is by no means half of the share. I haven't counted the fixes but I estimate that there about 20 separate hotfixes in the two updates. Just a quick note on the above for all members. KUDOS to Sereby for the extractor tool! Very handy. This post has been edited by knacki99: Jul 30 2007, 06:38 AM |

The files are not more than update rollup packages and not much more beta than any other hotfix we share here. Yes it is a rollup and it is more beta than the average unofficial hotfix which is why I`ve put it here instead of the download manager. There have been a few compatibility issues reported at the few places people are talking about it too, so better to be safe than sorry and keep it seperate for now. I expect it will become publicly available in future anyway because their been so active in developing. Wouldn`t be supprised if their are regular revisions either. Just a quick note on the above for all members. KUDOS to Sereby for the extractor tool! Very handy. Handy indeed, decided it needed to be shared so offered a place sereby could post it. Now he`s added the multiple hotfix extraction I requested it`s replaced my batch files which is a huge time saver. |

There's a problem downloading the larger 938979 hotfix on our island.
We have BT's crippled Exchange Activate 512 kb/s broadband and no matter what I try, IE7, Firefox or wget, on two separate PCs , one running XPH SP2, the other running Vista Ultimate, on two internet connections in two houses, one on BT Home Broadband and the other on ScotNet, the download stops after a variable time. The most I've managed to download is about 85% of the file and the download will not restart, even with wget, which is unusual. The download seems to be going fine but then there is a pause for around 30 seconds and the download fails. Is there some problem with the way your download manager's timeouts are set? |
