Supierce
I also need KB978411. I hope someone can find it! Thanks!
Petr
It seems that XP hotfixes are no longer available via the automated hotfix service. KB977225 - Incorrect lines are printed when a Word document is printed on a computer that is running Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Vista is another example. xable
Yeah, that's why we need them uploaded to the share when they are available.
GrofLuigi
KB977018 is another one... GL
Supierce
I guess I don't understand. Some of these are crucial fixes. How does Microsoft think users are supposed to actually GET them??
xable
We can use one of the methods here, if they all fail we're out of luck. But if we get it it's available forever.
Supierce
I tried the three methods to obtain the two hotfixes I need - KB978411 and KB977225. The third option doesn't seem to be functional at the moment, and one of the others (I don't recall which) failed to pass along the hotfix number and my platform (XP SP3 English). A nice person did respond and ask for that information, which I provided. They then responded that KB978411 isn't currently available, and that KB977225 isn't available for my platform. xable
That's typical of when they don't want you to have the hotfix. If they reply asking for the hotifx number you can pretty much guarantee they'll come back and say it's unavailable. (they did actually get the hotfix number in the first place because sometimes they'll quote your request in the first email which contains the number!) If your persistent sometimes they'll give it you and you can have some luck with option 4 in these cases. With option 3 you have to choose your poduct first. I think the XP hotfixes are going to get harder and harder to get now, MS would prefer everyone upgrade.
pavlov
KB978411 and KB977018 are only available to those with ESA (Extended Service Agreements) with KB977018 now going MIA on a search in the KB. KB978829 will be released in April via Windows Update.
