Significant USBHUB.SYS fix for all versions of Windows

Recommended Posts

Once in a while, Microsoft releases a fix that addresses an issue that has plagued Windows users for years. This is one such fix.

There was in issue in USBHUB.SYS that randomly caused memory corruption and could result in random system crashes. As USB devices are ubiquitous, virtually all Windows users may be affected by it at one time or another. The symptom you observe when it happens is that Windows just destabilizes and/or crashes for no apparent reason.

NOTE: Please familiarize yourself with the Known issues in each of these updates before installing them. I can tell you that the workaround for the Jet database issue, affecting Access 2007's ability to work with Excel files, works.

Editorial: In my view, any inconvenience these updates may cause is far outweighed by the fix.

Editorial: This is just the latest headache coming out of Microsoft. You would think that after the LIVING HELL Microsoft put people through with Windows 10, they would AT THE VERY LEAST support the garbage they force-fed customers for as long as they need it. Microsoft's Windows 10 as a Service model is nothing more than another way to screw customers over.
