knacki99
Hi everyone, I have a problem with the installation of .NET 2/3 hotfixes that are not built on the new .msu update standard for Vista. When i try to install such a hotfix, i get the following error: Now is there a workaround to install these hotfixes (e.g. KB938758)?
the_guy
The only one I can think of is to request the Vista hotfixes for the issue. the_guy
xable
Looking at the message you`ll need the vista version.
knacki99
I requested for Vista explicitly but received the exe versions.
xable
Try again, sometimes they don`t listen. Otherwise you`ll have to contact MS for support. We don`t have that hotfix so I can`t look at it.
mirage
I also had this problem and I talked to Brian Weaver from the support and he said, he was able to install the fixes. Some times later, the Development Team of .NET created a msu package for me and Brian gave me the link. I have no idea, why he is able to install the fix and you and me not. xable
I`m willing to bet that if their going to the trouble to make an .msu version they`ll know exactly why they won`t install in some cases.
