knacki99
Hi all, I would like to open up a discussion on how to best slipstream Vista hotfixes into the installation source DVD. Using Windows XP this was rather easy: copying the install CD to HDD and then using the /integrate switch for each hotfix. It appears however that MS has changed this scenerio significantly. This seems due to the fact that all Vista versions are on the DVD. The procedure seems rather complicated as outlined here: http://winbeta.org/comments.php?id=6244&am...ighlight=hotfix A follow-up posting of this initial guide is here: http://winbeta.org/comments.php?id=6260&catid=1 Remember all I want to do is to update the Vista original DVD with the latest hotfixes, whereas some are required to be slipstreamed for certain hardware to function (e.g. ATI SB600 chipset). I search for the most easiest and convenient way. And of course it should be compliant with MS guidelines to do this. If you have any input, ideas or experiences slipstreaming Vista hotfixes, please share them in this thread. Thx.
mirage
you need the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...23-679830D629F2 and this cool tool: VistaIntegrator http://www.winvistaside.de/download/details.php?file=47 ! rezzo
What is better to integrate hotfixes, AIK+VistaIntegrator or vLite?

rezzo
Thanks mirage. I believe that the last vLite (1.0 final) can integrate hotfixes/service_pack. I was wrong.
CrimsonKnight13
vLite 1.1 Beta can, but there is a catch. If you're trying to integrate x64 hotfixes into an x64 image, it won't let you don't on an x86 system.
mirage
that's right becasue you can't run x64 programs on a x86 windows
