  1. Nice one egorz, WindowsUpdate.log can be very usefull
  2. Thanks for the heads up, moved to Server 2008 section.
  3. That's good news, thanks for the update.
  4. Sorry been a bit busy, I'll get to it later tonight.
  5. RonnieJP, there's no need to quote a post at all if your not specifically refering to a part of it, when you are it's better to only include the part your replying to. That way it saves people scrolling past the quotes when reading through the thread. There is also a generous post size limit so you shouldn't need to truncate a quote should you feel the whole thing is appropriate. Unfortunatly I'm of W7 so cannot help in this case but hopefully someone can get some reproducible steps together or microsoft can manage to reproduce it themselves.
  6. Nice one cgthamm. Must give 8.1 a try, did not like 8 at all.
  7. Good info but FYI, the release date you quote isn't the release date it's revision date for the article.. Take KB2871777: The article was last updated on September 18, 2013 and has been updated 6 times. This revision history refers to the contents of the article itself and not the binarys.
  8. Hard to tell when it was updated because the date on the articles is for the articles and not the files. It also only lists 111 files, there are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of unique files across microsofts operating systems and applications. The articles aren't always accurate either, idealy you would extract the info from the files themselves. As for organising it, I don't know, it's possible to add custom feilds in the download manager that are also searchable. This type of thing is probably better of in a database with a custom front end though.
  9. If you have issues with mouse lag while gaming on windows 8.1 you'll be pleased to hear microsoft is working on a fix. In the mean time there are a few workarounds to try in this thread, they apparently don't work for everyone but are worth a try. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...82-88528c42e400
  10. Thank you both for the suggestions, the categorys have been added.
  11. So you did parkd1, I remember now.. completely slipped my mind sorry. I'll merge the threads and get them added later on.
  12. Hi, Your best bet is someone who has the hotfix and sees this post. Otherwise if you know what files it updates and their version numbers you can search for a hotfix that supersedes it.
  13. Interesting thanks erpdude8. It's also possible the article is wrong and it doesn't apply to vista. In any case you should report it to microsoft so they can fix the article or the hotfix.
